15 healthy ways to improve your mood & motivation

I am no expert, actually I had bad days just like the rest of us, maybe more often then I'd like to admit. I have found these tips to be a wonderful star on improving more than just my mood & motivation. The key to being motivated is to start with your health, basic habits make a huge difference. Next, is your mindset, turn your head & change your habits!

1. Daily multivitamin. These regulate your bodily functions. Sometimes fatigue is just as simple as a low iron count. Adding vitamins to your daily routine will improve functions like energy, digestion, skin, focus, immune system & weight management.

2. Make your bed every morning & Wash your bedding frequently (once every week or two) this just makes me feel better, & you'll be more likely to not get sick if something is going around.

3. Drink lots of water. I have heard this a million times and you probably have as well, but our bodies are 70% water. If you drink double or triple the amount of water each day that you drink now, you'll notice a difference in your body in just a couple of days. It will help your immune system, your digestive system, your sleep will improve, and so much more. You'll absorb vitamins found in foods, and supplements better.

4. Wear clothes that make you'll feel good. This includes a comfortable pair of shoes! Your appearance to yourself & being comfortable in your clothing is so important. If you know you look nice, & feel comfortable you're going to have a better response to your daily routine. You'll be more inclined to get done what must get done.

5. Wash your face every morning & night! This just simply makes you feel good & after a few days your skin will thank you. I recommend Micellar water and your favorite moisturizer. Add a little Micellar water to a cotton round and wipe your face and neck, following with a quick moisturizer & it's easy as 1,2. I have found keeping it simple with these two are 10x more beneficial than any other system I've ever used.

6. Read a book in your spare time or day off. I haven't done this in a long long time, but I remember it to be very enjoyable. Sometimes this can be a great way to escape your thoughts & emotions on current situations.

7. Refrain from thinking too hard about doing something, just do it! The longer you spend thinking about what you have to do the better chances you have of talking yourself put of doing it entirely. If you have to think about it, think about how much better you'll feel once it's done!

8. Sing 5 songs a day! Singing releases endorphins in your brain. A chemical that makes you feel happy.

9. Compliment somebody! This is a proven method to improve your mood! When you see that you have the power to make somebody smile or talk about how happy you just made them, it boosts your confidence!

10. Drink green tea (hot or iced) Green Tea has Theanine , an amino acid that has a calming affect on your body! It is sometimes used to treat anxiety.

11. Sow a garden. Pick a vegetable or fruit you eat often, & a favorite flower. It doesn't have to be extravagant. Especially if you don't have a green thumb. There are tons of getting started videos online that will help & it doesn't take a whole lot of knowledge & effort, just the basics will get you right along. Its extremely rewarding & when you get the hang of it you'll be addicted. Growing your own food is such a great feeling. Stick around for more blogs on gardening.

12. Go for a walk. Being outside is a great antidepressant. Vitamin D from the sun along with getting active is sometimes all our body and mind needs to feel energized.

13. Skip fast food. I mean like the really yucky stuff. If you must order something, choose a healthy sub, or make a salad with your favorites. I like to add a meat to my salad along with my favorite vegetables & a hard boiled egg. Eating healthier is key to improving your life. This isn't about weight loss. This is about fueling your body with healthy foods that have something positive to offer your body. Plus, if you continue to eat healthy your immune system, your skin, your sleep all of these attributes in your life will thank you & you'll be feeling great.

14. Avoid negativity. This includes negative people. Not everyone is willing to succeed. As success comes with work, and effort. Some people just do not have the desire. Move on. Surround yourself with people that have drive & passion.

15. Do projects. Things like, building something, crafts, remodeling, restoring, cleaning, research. There are tons of things we all want to do. Hands on projects are a great way to learn & have fun. By yourself or with a friend. Trying new things is a great way to learn more about yourself & your strengths!
